I don’t know where to begin other than to just dive in. Making excuses, trying to justify this, or sugar coat it would be futile. So here goes… As of yesterday, I’m now under 100lbs lost. Yes, I have gone backwards. When I started this journey I weighed 339lbs, I weighed in yesterday at 251 lbs. For those counting, I’ve gained 34lbs since the marathon and I am up 2 inches in the waist; back...
Weigh-in Wednesday: 04.11.12
After the gain from birthday week, I’m happy to report this week was MUCH better! In fact, looking back, it’s my second highest weekly loss since I started on this journey. My biggest was week 2, waaaaaay back in October 2009…I lost 13 lbs! Granted I had the stomach flu that week, so that helped. Anyway, results are in…I’m down 6.1 lbs! Boom! To hit my goal by the Chicago Marathon, I need to average...
The No-weigh challenge
On a recent run with Steve we both talked about how we let our respective scales somewhat rule our lives. Either by letting the number dictate our mood, by obsessing over the number we get or constantly checking and weighing in. After some thought, we came up with a possible solution. Starting today, after our morning weigh ins, we’re going scale free until Thanksgiving. We’re calling it the No-weigh challenge! The rules are simple, we...
weigh-in tomorrow…
Dave Wallach posted an article that Coach Jen wrote today on Pace of Chicago…after reading it, I had to take a minute to collect myself, I was moved. My boss Mike, asked if I was ok, so I had him read Jen’s article and he agreed it was freakin’ cool! Tomorrow’s work out from Coach Jen… Heart rate in zones 1-2 on a gently rolling course. Check cadence: count left foot strikes 15 seconds. Goal...
ick…
Yesterday, for the most part, was a great day. We had a relaxing morning, Pam slept in and the girls and I hung out. We went to lunch with Pam’s grandma and aunt at Wildfire…which was awesome. We had my holiday party last night, but my father-in-law was still under the weather, so he didn’t feel up to watching the girls. So Pam stayed home and i went to mingle with my coworkers for a...
weigh in wednesday…down another 1.5 lbs
Results are in…lost 1.5lbs this week for a 15 week total of just under 43lbs lost. ‘ll be honest, I’m happy but I wanted a bigger number. This morning’s run was 45 minutes, in zones 1-2…ran a 12:57 pace. Not bad. Tomorrow is my gym day, and I’m hitting it early in the morning. More later!
weigh in tomorrow…and a run!
Today was a rest day, but I went for a 30 minute walk. I just had to urge to go out and stretch my legs! Tomorrow is weigh-in Wednesday and Coach Jen has scheduled a 45 minute run is zones 1-2. I think I’m going to run with music…maybe some Jim Brickman to help clear the mind. My RD, Beth Shutt has been giving me homework the last couple of weeks. The first assignment was...
weigh in results…
So, the results…I lost 4.6 lbs last week, for a total weight loss to date of 41.4lbs in 14 weeks! More progress!
i don’t see it…
I chatted with a couple friends today about my progress…one friend called me out because I hadn’t posted progress pics. It’s mostly because I’ve had a full schedule. But, I’m still a little self conscious about me in pictures. Well Anedra, here you go…I posted 2 before pics and a couple taken tonight. do I look different? I have to say, I don’t see it. I look in the mirror everyday, and I feel like...
gym day…
I’m changing gym day routine. While the location closer to home is still fairly new to me, I like the idea of working out early…and not having to take a second bag down to work. So I’m going to “sleep in” until 4:45a, get up, eat and hit the gym before work. I also think part of my drag-ass-ness the last couple of days, besides the lack of sleep, is a bit of monotony. I’ve...
