Last week was a step back week, and I needed it. I also went and had my knee rechecked. Turns out it’s a bit arthritic. So that’s fun! Doctor wants to try a cortisone shot, so I’m going in Tuesday and see how it goes.

Tomorrow I’ve got a 14 miler on tap. I’ve done that distance a lot these last 4 years, and have run 2 half marathons already since May. I know, logically, I can do it.
Yet today, since I woke up, I’ve been a little antsy about the run. I figured I’d post about it, and let it go…OK, try to let it go. I know how I can be. Ha!
The girls and I went to Shedd this morning, and that was a great distraction! After lunch there, we came home and watched the Lego Movie. Well, the girls did…I reread old posts. Kae’s heart story, my dad’s heart story, race recaps, and reread who I’m running for this year.
I’ve also had some good pep talks and gotten some perspective this week from someone awesome, and it’s helped immensely.
I laid out my clothes for tomorrow, and downed some more nuun. It looks like it’ll be a warm morning, so I’m prepping for it. I decided on a team cubicle shirt, banking on some mojo from it. I have a post run outfit packed for breakfast post run, and the girls are ready to go to their grandpa’s while I run.
So, I’m ready. I’m going to try and stay calm tonight, relax, watch a movie with the girls, have some pasta, a beer, and listen to some music after they go to bed.
For the most part, from here on out this summer, I will be running the farthest I have in 2 years. I know I can do it, I know it won’t be easy, but I am going to enjoy it.
Tomorrow I’ll run with heart, be loud, and try to enjoy every step!
